It's the 5th Saturday in the month and that means...FREESTYLE at HIMCR!  Any project you want!  Let's see what you're working on!

This week I am showcasing a scrapbook layout that I made for my December Scrapbook Club!  These are old pictures, but ones that I knew I didn't want to crop down!  So I kept them all the 4x6 size.

Here is the full layout...I couldn't get a crisp picture so I just decided to highlight the first page!  You will see a few sneak peeks on this layout, Two Sale-a-Bration items: Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button Pack AND Bloomin' Marvelous Stamp Set.  I love both of them SO MUCH!

If you do too you can earn one item for free with every $50 that you spend starting on January 22nd until March 22nd!  Ask me for more details if you are interested!

And I could leave without showcasing my favorite little decorated rectangle!  This Pool Party rectangle is made from the NEW Pool Party Core'dinations cardstock.  It will be in the new Spring Catalog that you can order from starting on January 3rd!

Hope you enjoyed my page!  Please go and check out what the other ladies on the DT made this week.  There are some realy cute projects!  If I don't make it back to my blog again before January 1st, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Hiding in My Craft Room #77: Anything but Christmas!

It's time for another Hiding in My Craft Room Challenge.  This week we are working on Anything But Christmas!  I'm just about ready to put all of my Christmas stamps away again until next year!  I love them...but I was so ready for this challenge!!

So here is my card...

I decided to use this week's challenge to make my hubby's 30th birthday card.  His birthday was yesterday.

I started this card with a Crumb Cake cardstock base.  I then added some designer papers by Stampin' Up! and My Mind's Eye.  The cute brad is from My Mind's Eye.

Those banners are from my cute new stamp set by Wplus9: Banner Love.  And the sentiment is made by Studio Calico.

Hope you enjoy my card this week and that you can play along and create something that is not Christmas related!  Be sure to check out all of the design team members' blogs...there are some great projects this week!

Hey There!  It's time for another Sketches in Thyme layout!  We are on sketch #97!  It's been so much fun to play along as a Guest Maven this month!  Thanks for having me!

I just love it when they do a 2-page layout!  This is what I do the most of because I have so many pictures!!!

Here is my take on it...

These pictures were from when my son was just a few weeks old.  Such a sweet baby boy!

I started this layout with a Not Quite Navy cardstock base from Stampin Up!  The designer papers are from My Mind's Eye and the various embellishments are from MME and SU!

Super simple layout and VERY cute!!

CAS-ual Friday #82

The challenge at CAS-ual Fridays this week is to use scoring on your project.  I have been wanting to do this for a long time and this challenge gave me the push I needed!

So here is my card...

I started with a card base of Pool Party and scored 5 lines along the bottom, every quarter inch...I think.  I then used the new Stampin' Up! hexagon embossing folder and put a piece of embossed Pool Party across the top of the card.  I then took my sanding block to the whole card front!

I used a piece of Chocolate Chip DSP to create the little tag with my Big Shot and then added in a cute button that you can earn during Sale-a-Bration...coming up in January!  That Pool party ribbon also comes with the buttons!!

The "Oh baby" stamp comes from the NEW stamp set from the Mini Catalog called Ciao, Baby!  I just love it!!

Hope you enjoyed my card for the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge and all of the sneak peeks that you just got of the NEW SU merchandise!!

Friday Mashup #89: Stampin Up Sneak Peek

The challenge this week at Friday Mashup is to make a Clean and Simple Card with an option to heat emboss.

I just received my pre-order of goodies from the new Stampin Up catalog and I just had to use some of them today!  Here is my card...

I started this card with a Pool Party cardstock base.  I then embossed the tree with the NEW Pool Party embossing powder!  I then stamped the Christmas stamp on a piece of whisper white cardstock and created a banner.  I used dimensionals to adhere it to the base so that I could add a little wave to it.  Then I used one of the NEW Sale-a-Bration buttons in Pool party with a little linen thread.

I love the simplicity of this card and I hope you do too!  Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies: All Stampin' Up!

HIMCR: Super Scraps Saturday

It's that time of the month again...Super Scraps Saturday at Hiding in My Craft Room!  I love this challenge.  It's so much fun to just take what is left over from your crafting session and make a fabulous card with it!

While I was scrapbooking last weekend with a friend, I made a few cards and a few layouts.  When it was almost time to go, I looked at what I had on the table and I made a quick card!  I just LOVE how it turned out.  The scraps all came from this layout.

I started the card with a Crumb Cake cardstock base.  All of the designer papers come from My Mind's Eye!  That cute little stamp is from shopEvalicious.  I have followed her blog for a while and just had to get this new stamp that she is selling...I LOVE it!

Button and Linen Thread come from Stampin Up!

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  You have until midnight PDT on Friday to enter your card for this challenge on the HIMCR blog.  Hope to see your card made of scraps there soon!

Sketches in Thyme #95

***Please scroll down to see my post for the Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop...you don't want to miss it!***

Hey Everyone...I am SO EXCITED to be a Guest Maven at Sketches in Thyme this month.  If you have never played along with their challenges before, you are in for a treat!

Here is this week's sketch...

And here is my take on it...

The whole inspiration for this page was this HUGE 8x10 picture that I took of my little boy Noah in the pool this summer!  I just LOVE using big pictures on scrapbook pages!

I started this layout with a Basic Grey piece of cardstock from Stampin Up!  I then followed the sketch and added designer papers from My Mind's Eye.  I had to move the circle to the other side of the page because my picture is SO BIG!  But I love it!  I added a little chipboard N for Noah.

Other Embellishments: Button - American Crafts, Twine - My Mind's Eye and Washi Tape - K&Company Smash product.

I hope you enjoy my layout and if you want to play along too, just post your take on the sketch on the Sketches in Thyme blog by the end of the month!  Don't forget to take a look at all of the maven's blogs!  Their layouts are always so cute!

Stylin' Stampin' Blog Hop: December

It's time for another blog hop!  If you are just starting out...the list of blog hop participants is at the bottom of this post.  If you are joining me from Darcy's blog...WELCOME!  Aren't her projects so cute?!

This month we are focusing on Holiday Items.  I didn't have time to create a 3D item this month so I am showing you 3 Christmas cards that I have recently made.  I am in the process of getting ready for my Christmas Card Stamp-a-Stack...2 out of 3 of these cards are for that event!  I hope you enjoy!

I started this card with a Crumb Cake card base.  The chevron pattern was embossed on vellum and stapled to the card base.  I used the Festival of Prints DSP Pack to create the tree...just free-handed the triangles with scissors.  I love the finishing touch of the silver glimmer star!  Don't you?

Tree idea from Pinterest.

This little penguin from the No Peeking stamp set is one of my very favorites of the season!

I started this card with a Cherry Cobbler card base.  I used the First Edition and Be of Good Cheer DSP packs.  I colored the penguin stamp using markers and then stamped and cut it out.  He's kind of a hard one to cut out but he is one of those stamps that just calls out for it!

My last card this month was also inspired by Pinterest!  Love this sketch!

I started this card with a Gumball Green cardstock base.  The designer papers come from the Be of Good Cheer DSP pack.  And don't you just love these Handmade Holidays Stitched Felt Ornaments?!  I think they just add the perfect touch to this (or any) card!

Please make sure to stop by Terry's blog next and continue on through the whole hop.  There are such great projects out there today!

November Scrapbook Club

Hey Everyone...I just wanted to stop in today to shwo you our November Scrapbook Club Layout!  6 of my favorite ladies get together every month to scrapbook with me and they really help me meet my order quota per quarter!  Without them I would have to spend $300 per quarter to remain an active demonstrator.  I could do it...but it's much nicer when I don't have to and they help me!  Plus, I like getting together with them!

Anyway...here is our layout this month...

We focused on a fall theme and used Stampin Up's new Core'dinations cardstock!  I just love that stuff and the best part about it...there will be more colors in the new Spring Catalog that comes out on January 3rd!  Yippie!

We used the Wonderfall stamp set from the Holiday Catalog...I just love that stamp set!

Here we sanded the bottom piece of Core'dinations cardstock and then punched out circles, embossed and sanded lightly another piece.  We added this piece to the first with dimensionals!  I LOVE this effect!

Tying leaves together with linen thread is my favorite!  I love it!

Thanks for stopping by...hope you all have a great Wednesday!

Retro Sketches #40

Hey There!  Today I'm coming to you with another card using the Perfectly Preserved stamp set from Stampin Up!  The jar from yesterday's post is my favorite stamp of the set but, I think the pears are a close second!

I used Retro Sketches Sketch #40 as inspiration.

I started this card with a Midnight Muse card base.  The patterned papers come from Stampin Up's In Color stack of DSP (Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder and Lucky Limeade).

I finished this card off with a little Midnight Muse ribbon through a ribbon slide!

Here is the sketch...

Hope you enjoyed my card.  Thank you for stopping by!

CAS(E) this Sketch #7

I just got this new stamp set this week and had to use it for this week's CAS(E) this Sketch!  I just love it!

Perfectly Preserved by Stampin Up is currently in the Holiday Catalog but will still be available after it ends on January 2nd.  I have another cute card that I made using it that you will see later this week!

This card is pretty simple.  I started with a Crumb Cake card base and added in Lucky Limeade, Wisteria Wonder and Pool Party pieces of DSP from SU.  After I stamped the jar and cut it out I tied a bit of Baker's Twine around the top of it.

Here is the sketch for this week...

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!  Happy Stamping!

HIMCR #74: Color Challenge

Hey everyone!  It's December...time for another color challenge with Hiding in My Craft Room!  This month your challenge is to use Blue & White!

At first I thought this challenge would be a little tough.  But then I remembered that I just got this cute new lion in a $3 stamp set from Michael's and that I needed to make a baby boy card for a friend!

So here is my card...

I started this card base with Crumb Cake cardstock from SU.  The patterned papers came from my scrap box.  And I stamped that cute little lion 3 different times and then cut out his mane and face and popped them up with dimensionals!  I finished the card off with a little Baker's Twine!

I love how it turned out and I hope you all do too!  Please make sure to check out all of the design team's blogs today!  Their projects are just so cute!!

CAS(E) this Sketch #6

Here I am, playing along with CAS(E) this Sketch again this week!

My card this week was inspired by this pin on Pinterest!  I love the way that they made the tree!

I started this card with a Crumb CAke cardstock base.  I added a little layer of Crumb Cake embossed with the Fancy Fan folder.  Over top of that I sponged a little bit of White/shimmery paint.  Then I made the tree using Cherry Cobbler and Pool Party triangles.  The tree was topped off with a Vintage Faceted Button tied with Early Espresso Baker's Twine.

Here is the sketch that I was inspired by...

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.  Hope you have a relaxing Sunday!

Hiding in my Craft Room #73

This week at HIMCR for our Mix It Up Challenge we are all doing Christmas themed cards.  So if you need some inspiration for this holiday cards...come check out what all of the design team has been up to!

My card is very simple!  I used it as a make n take for my last CROP event.  I started with a Crumb Cake card base and then used Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler Core'dinations cardstock!  I LOVE this stuff!  Seriously...if you don't have any, you need to order it!

On the Early Espresso piece, I tore the bottom edge and then used Stampin Up's new sanding block to distressing all over the paper.  What I love most about this NEW cardstock is that it doesn't have a white core.  The core is a lighter shade of the outside color.

On the Cherry Cobbler piece I just used the sanding block on the outside edges to give a little bit of color.  Then I stamped the new Seasonal Saying - Christmas Single Stamp (love this new single stamp option!) in Always Artichoke ink on Very Vanilla cardstock.  This stamp is one of my FAVORITES this holiday season!  A little loop of Always Artichoke seam binding ribbon finishes off the card!

There you have it!  I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving feasts and you are loving getting ready for Christmas!!  Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Unscripted Sketches #184

I decided to take on another challenge tonight.  My daughter has been asking me to make her a card for a few days now.  She is really into Hello Kitty these days and yesterday while we were out shopping we got her 3 Hello Kitty stamps for $1!  She is in heaven!

The Hello Kitty on this card is from the packaging!  I plan to slip this card with a little message in it under her door tonight so she will find it when she wakes up in the morning.  She is going to LOVE it!

This card came together in just under 10 minutes!  I used a Basic Gray cardstock base.  The other papers came from my scrap box.  A little baker's twine and some jewels and don't forget the cute Hello Kitty image and it's done!

Here is the sketch that I followed!

Retro Sketches #37

Well...the hubby is out of town and yesterday was a bad nap day.  So...the kids and I headed to Sonic Happy Hour and then to Micheal's to kill some time!  I found out that select paper packs were 40% off!  So I scored this cute MME Christmas 6x6 pack for around $4!  I just had to get it out and play today at nap time!  :)

I got my inspiration from Retro Sketches #37.  Check it out...it's a good one!!!

My card started with a Crumb Cake cardstock base then added a layer of Whisper White with my new papers torn and distressed on top.  The wood trees are from Studio Calico.  I finished this card off with some black and Cherry Cobbler baker's twine!  So Easy!!

Check out this sketch and play along!

Just Add Ink #143

I thought I would play along this week at Just Add Ink.  I had my 12 hour CROP this weekend and this is one of the pages that I completed...with journaling and all!

For every month of the first year of my kiddos' lives, I create a layout of my favorite pictures of them.  This a layout about my favorite pictures of Noah at 11 months!  Enjoy!  (Click to enlarge.)

I started this layout with an Early Espresso cardstock base!  The other papers on this layout came from MME and Simple Stories.

The stamps are from Close to My Heart.  And the sticker embellishment comes from MME as well!

When I scrapbook, I rarely stamp on my pages...there is just so much other stuff that could be going on in the scrapbooking world.  But since this challenge was for Just Add Ink, I figured that I should use ink and stamping!

I love the look of hand-printed journaling!  I love my Mom's handwriting...it's just another way that I am connected to her, I could pick it out anywhere.  And I hope that my kiddos feel the same way when they grow up!

Here is the color challenge that inspired me...

Thanks for stopping by my blog!  Have a super day!

HIMCR #71 - Super Scraps Saturday

Hello there!  It's Super Scraps Saturday at Hiding In My Craft Room!  I love this challenge!  It's so much fun to find scraps that work together and make a card!!!

Here is my card this week...

I started this card with a Crumb Cake cardstock base and then added banners in mulitple colors and patterns from the Summer Smooches DSP!  The cute yellow, polka dot flower came from Stampin Up's kit a while back where you could build a flower!  And a Real Red button, tied with twine!

I hope that you take the time to stop by all of the blogs of the HIMCR design team.  Their projects are so fantastic!!!

Needed: Thank You Cards

I don't know about you, but I love to send Thank You cards and I haven't in a while because my stash has been LOW!  So this week I've been building it up and a few of my favorite people should start seeing them in the mail again!

Last night I tried out a few challenges and got this card...

I started with a Basic Gray cardstock base and added a piece of silver Glimmer paper across the front.  The 3 half circles (1") are in the colors: Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum and Elegant Eggplant.  I tied some Wisteria Wonder twine around the whole card and then added a mini silver brad to each circle.  I completed the card by using my sentiment, thank you.  But this could easily be a card for just about any event!

Here are the challenges that I am entering...

Love this sketch!!!  I need to play this challenge every week...it's my new FAV!

All of the purple isn't my first chocie but I thought I would challenge myself a little bit!  Hope you like it PDCC!

Enjoy your weekend everyone!  I'll be back tomorrow with Super Scraps Saturday at Hiding in my Craft Room!
