Practical Scrappers Frugal Finds: Coffee

This month at Practical Scrappers we are using COFFEE for our Frugal Find!  Make sure you check out tons of different ways to use coffee in your crafting over on the Practical Scrappers blog today!

Here is my creation...

I used the hubby's (I don't drink coffee) left over coffe to create this nice textured background for my card!  I just had a plate with a little coffee on it and used a cup, dipped the cup in the coffee and stamped it on the Whisper White cardstock.  I also was sure to put a few drops here and there!

One of the best parts about it is that it smells like coffee too!  I don't like to drink it but I do love to smell it!

The stamp set I used is: Heart-2-Heart Mini Stamp Set #1.  So cute and there is even a die to match it!  Although it's really not a hard image to hand cut...that's what I did...but I do love to cut!

Thanks for stopping by today!

I worked on a layout based on this sketch at Sketches in Thyme...

Here is my layout...

I just love that little dude and the little title that I found in the Seen & Noted pad of journaling cards by Pebbles!  "I like naps and YOU!"  So sweet and so true at this point in his life!

Hope you enjoy the layout...more coming soon!

Hiding In My Craft Room #86: Use a Kit

Hey Everyone!  This week at HIMCR we are creating a project using a kit.  If you are like me, you have a lot of kits laying around your craft room.  This could be a scrapbook club kit that you subscribe to, a kit from a store or just a pack of coordinating papers!

For my card, I used a kit by My Mind's Eye called: On the Bright Side.  The kit includes a few papers and some die cuts to match!

I started this card with a Kraft cardstock base.  I then added on a a piece of the designer paper, a few die cuts and a button tied with twine!

I am also entering this card for CAS(E) this Sketch #16...

Hope you all enjoy and don't forget to check out what the rest of the design team did today at the HIMCR blog!

Happy Birthday Boy!

Remember that I was entered in the Practical Scrappers Card Contest.  Well I didn't make it in the Top 16...It was an honor to even make it in the Top 25 and then the Top 20

But we didn't know before we made our card for the Top 15 (or 16), if we were chosen yet or not.  So I made this cute card and never got to enter it!

Here was our inspiration...

And here is the card that I entered...

This card uses some new tapes from MME and the new pinwheel die for the Big Shot from Stampin Up!  I just love this card and wanted you to have the chance to see it!

At Practical Scrappers we are down to the Top 10 today!  Make sure that you still go vote!

These aren't the typical colors and I reach for first, so it was good to stretch myself and try something new.

Here is my card...

This card is really a hodge podge of elements from my craft room.  Scraps from my scrap drawers.  I made it for one of my friends that just had a baby boy this week.  Little Caleb is SO CUTE!

Craft Your Passion #150: Glitter

Hey Everyone!  Time for another Craft Your Passion Challenge: "All that GLITTERS"!

Our sponsor this week is Stamp Fairy.  They gave us a few cute little fairy images to work with and I just love them!  I used the image: Mimi Stars.  Isn't she just SO CUTE?!

I added a little glitter to her stars, wand and shoes!  Who doesn't love glitter shoes?!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you will go check out all of the other glitter projects from the design team!

Hiding In My Craft Room: Embossing

Welcome to another HIMCR post!  This week the challenge is to try embossing...dry or traditional embossing....you decide!

Or sponsor this week gave us some cute images to work with.  Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps has a ton of images to choose from!  You will LOVE them!

The image that I got to work with is called "Too Tweet".

On of the things I like most about digital stamps is that you can invert them and resize them to your liking!  And that is exactly what I did here in order to get a larger and smaller birdie!

Hope you enjoy my card today.  Please stop by the HIMCR blog to see what the rest of the design team came up with.

Practical Scrappers: Inspired by Pinterest (Valentines)

So here we are with February's Inspired by Pinterest post!  This month we were supposed to find a pin on Pinterest that inspired us to create a Valentine project.

Here is the pin that inspired me...

And here is my Valentine project...

I created a Valentine's Day card using this non-traditional color scheme.  I love grey and yellow together and adding in jean material and pearls just makes it even cuter!

Thanks for stopping by and please make sure to check out all of the other projects by the design team at Practial Scrappers today!

I had so much fun creating with this sketch by Liz!  Here is my layout...

Isn't my little man just SO CUTE?!  These pictures were taken for a photo contest that my friend Jessica Strom was having.  All the little guys wore fake mustaches and then were voted on by family and friends to find a winner.  Noah didn't win, but he sure was stinkin cute and will always be a winner in my book!

Here are the supplies that I used for my project (to the best of my memory)...

Cardstock: Tangerine Tango (Stampin' Up!, SU)
Designer Paper: Studio Calico, Echo Park, My Mind's Eye, SU
Stickers: Studio Calico, EK Success
Button: SU
Stamp: Hero Arts - Studio Calico
Ink: Black StazOn (SU)

Hope you liked my layout this month!  Make sure to check out all of the fun interpretations of this sketch over at Practical Scrappers today!

Craft Your Passion #149: Valentine

Time for another Craft Your Passion Challenge.  This week we made a valentine using a digital stamp from Bugaboo Digi Stamps.  I chose to use the image: Sock Monkey - Lift Heart.  Isn't he just SO cute?!

For this card, I started with a Soft Suede cardstock base (Stampin Up, SU).  I then added on a few layers of the NEW More Amore DSP (SU).

I used these colors to color in my image: Soft Suede, Chocolate Chip, Basic Black, Real Red and Primrose Petals.

A few heart brads from Making Memories finished off this card.

So easy and super cute!  I hope you all can play along with us this week at Craft Your Passion.  Just make a Valentine and link it up before the end of the day on Sunday and you could win this week's prize!  YAY!

Hiding In My Craft Room #84: Super Scraps Saturday

Hey Everyone!  It's that time again...time to get our your scraps and play along!

Just make a card using scraps and enter you card on the HIMCR blog!

It's kinda hard to believe that this card was made totally out of scraps...but it's TRUE!

The card base is about 3"x3".  I used the new Core'dinations cardstock in Cherry Cobbler and sanded that a bit around the edges.  I then used this cute doily heart from the More Amore DSP pack by Stampin Up.  I had cut it out to use on another card earlier this week but just didn't like how it was looking.  So it was sitting on my table, ready to be used!

I filled in the heart with various pink buttons!  Then I added a cute heart banner from the WPlus9 Stamp Set: Banner Love.  Unfortunately it looks like it's out of stock right now!  :(  The banner was stamped on a piece of scrap Whisper White cardstock and adhered tot he buttons with dimensionals.

I think that completes the details of my card this week.  Make sure to check out all of the other projects from the Design Team and play along with us this week!

Stylin' Stampin' Blog Hop: Fabric February

Hey Everyone!  Welcome to another Stylin' Stampin' Blog Hop!  Hopefully you are joining from Pamela's blog (Isn't her fabric creation SO CUTE?!).  If you didn't come from her blog, be sure to continue through the hop and catch all 14 stops...you won't want to miss any of them!

This month we are all playing with fabric!  Did you know that Stampin Up sells fabric?!  It's on page 170-171 of the big Idea Book and Catalog.  And fabric is for more than just sewing!  Fabric can add great texture and dimension to a card or a scrapbook page.

I used the Summer Smooches fabric (#125411) for my card.  This fabric comes with 3 extra-wide fat quarters (27"x18"), each is a different design.

Now on to my card...

I started this card with a Crumb Cake cardstock base.  I added a strip of the Crumb Cake polka dot DSP from the Color Collection Designer Series Paper Stack: Neutrals.  I then used the Secret Garden Framelits Dies to cut out my cute flowers!

The middle flower is made up of 4 flowers stacked on top of each other and then stapled together.  I added a button from the Brights collection to each flower and tied them all with Linen Thread.

I finished this card by using my Crumb Cake marker to draw a teeny, tiny scallop along the top and the bottom of my DSP.  And I used the Sale-a-Bration Stamp Set, Bloomin' Marvelous, to add a sentiment to this card.

I hope that you enjoyed my card and that you next the next button to visit Justin's project this month!  You won't want to miss it!

Good Morning!  It's the WEEKEND!  YAY!!  I am coming to you with another HIMCR Challenge!  It's the first Saturday of the month so we are working on our Color Challenge!  The color for this challenge is RED (and remember that pink is a form of red)!

Here is my card...

I started this card with a Kraft card base.  Then I added in some Little Yellow Bicycle designer paper...love that heart paper!  On top of that I layered some pink washi tape and added on a few pink and red heart brads!

I then added on a Jenni Bowlin Bingo Card and a few other embellishments that I had in my stash!

I love Valentine's Day!  I think I love it the most because I love creating with pink and red and hearts!!  It's just so fun!
