Practical Scrappers: September Layout Sketch

**If you are here looking for my Friday Favorites post, please click here or scroll down to find it.  Thanks**

Today over at Practical Scrappers we are working with a fun Layout Sketch!

Here is the sketch that we were given to inspire us this month...

I loved this sketch but I decided to make it a two-page layout.  Most of the scrapbooking that I do ends up being two-page layouts because I have so many pictures to work with.  I'm kind of obsessed when I'm behind the camera!

Here is my layout (Click on the picture to enlarge)...

This layout is about the day when we visited a local dairy farm, Shatto Milk Company.  It was rather easy to make this one-page sketch into a two-page layout!  When you so many pictures to include, you don't need much else on the page, right?!

I wanted to highlight a great scrapbook embellishment that you can typically find when you got to a touristy business or on vacation...a cloth patch.  These patches are typically ironed on to a bag or jacket or might even be pinned to a bulletin board.  But I love to use them for scrapbook embellishments.  They are usually under $5 and so cute!  The cow in the top right of my layout is a patch.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today!  Make sure you check out what the other Design Team Members did with the sketch today over at Practical Scrappers and leave them some love!

SSINKspiration: Friday Favorites

It's time for another Firday Favorites over at SSINKspiration

My favorite of the month has been the September My Paper Pumpkin Kit!

I love the card bases with the circle design on it.  And I love the little file folder and arrow die cuts!  I think the best part about these kits is that you don't have to follow their design, you can add in any stamp set and make it a different card all together!

For the above card I added in the Birthday Cake stamp and make a Birthday Card!  I love it!

Please be sure to stop by the SSINKspiration blog today to see what the favorites of our other Design Team Members are!

Practical Scrappers: Storage Ideas

Today over at Practical Scrappers we are talking about Storage Ideas.

Did you know that Stampin' Up! sells empty stamp cases?!  I love them, not just for extra stamps that I have hanging around my craft room, but for organizing all of the little things that come with crafting!

Full Wood-Mount Stamp Cases (set of 4) #127551  $6.95

I started using these cases to keep my current Stampin' Up! embellishments in order.

Here is what I keep in the boxes:
*Baker's Twine and Linen Thread
*Candy Dots, Jewels, Pearls
*Ribbon Scraps
*Washi Tape

I also started using these boxes for my reinkers! There are 10 colors per collection and 10 reinkers fit rather nicely into a case!

I went a little crazy ordering these cases!  What else can I put in them?!  Hmmmm....

Hiding In My Craft Room #116: LOL (Lots Of Layers)

This week at HIMCR our theme is LOL.  No, not Laughing Out Loud but...Lots Of Layers!

The first thing I thought of when I thought of layers was Stampin' Up!'s new Festive Flurry Bundle.  It comes with the Festive Flurry Stamp Set (includes 4 snowflake designs and sizes) with matching Framelits Dies!  When you purchase these two items together you save 15%!!!

And here is the card that I made for today...

My first layer is a large circle of Pacific Point cardstock.  The second layer is a circle of Silver Glimmer Paper.  The third layer is the largest snowflake in the set, stamped with Pacific Point ink on Whisper White cardstock.  The fourth layter is one of the middle sized dies used to cut DSP from the Winter Frost DSP pack.  The next layer is the smallest snowflake, stamped with Coastal Cabana ink on Whisper White cardstock.  And the last layer of the card is a Pacific Point Candy Dot on a Candy Dots Brad Base!  Whew!  I think that qualifies as Lots of Layers!

Make sure you stop by the HIMCR blog to see what all of the other Design Team Members are up to this week!  I wonder if they can beat 6 layers?!

And play along this week, link up and you could win a $25 gift certificate to ScrapbookPal.com.

Practical Scrappers: September Card Sketch

It's time for another card sketch over at Practical Scrappers!

Here is the sketch that we were given to be inspired by this month...

And here is my card...

I basically took the idea of notebook paper and the school theme and then made it my own!

I created the file folder card using Stampin' Up!'s new envelope punch board!  If you would like to watch a tutorial, you can click here.  This video isn't done by me but she does a really good job explaining everything!

So create the spiral notebook paper look, I punched little holes along one side of the designer paper and then cut from the edge into each hole.  After cutting you will just bend, fold, and ruffle those edges so that it looks like this piece of paper was torn from a notebook!

This sentiment is stamped on the inside of my card!  I love this for a teacher!!

Well thanks for stopping by today!  Don't forget to visit the Practical Scrappers main blog today to see what the other Design Team Members came up with!
