Party Favors

A while back I saw a post on someone's blog about photo cubes in the $1 spot at Target. So I hurried over and picked up 6 of them. I didn't know what I was going to use them for, but they were only $1! Ha!

I'm glad that I figured out a good use for them! I gathered pictures of the party guests with Brooke and filled a cube for each family in attendance! They were so cute! (And check out the cute video that my sister made for us! She compiled TONS of pictures into a little slideshow to show at the party and each family got their own copy!)

"love" Layout

Just wanted to share with you my club page for this month. Don't you just love it??!!

Here are a few ways you can get your hands on it if you want one too:

1. Make n' Take - Come to the crop in Gardner on Saturday, 2/27 any time from noon until midnight and make this page yourself! Cost will be $8. All contents are included except the cute baby you see in all of the pictures (and of course you fill the page with your own pictures too)! You must provide your own adhesive. This will take approx. 1 hour to complete.

2. Page Kit - I will stamp all of the images for you and have all of the papers pre-cut. All you have to do is cut and glue. Cost will be $10. The beauty about this is that you can create this layout whenever you want or whenever you have time!

3. Completed Layout - Who wants to do all that work when I will do it for you? You say you want it and I will provide you with a completed layout. All you need to do is add pictures! Cost is $12.

**Your designer series paper may differ a little from my sample but it will coordinate and will all be from the Sending Love DSP pack in the mini catalog.**

**Please note that if you are in my Scrapbook Club, you get to make this page for FREE!!! No need to email me back to sign up! I will see you on Friday night at my house (6:30pm) OR Saturday at the crop to complete your page!**

I only have 4 kits available so act now! First come, first serve! Email me to reserve yours today! demokimsu@yahoo.com Please note in your email which option you prefer: 1, 2, or 3.

If you do not choose option #1 you may pick up your kit or completed page at my house in Gardner or I will ship it to you for $5.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Punch Confetti

I didn't pay anything for confetti! I just used scraps in the party colors and my circle punches in all sizes and there you have it! And it was also a great baby entertainer when the grown ups were talking!

P.S. Don't you just love all of the pink candies that I got on sale after Valentine's Day?!!

2.24.2010

It's all about the details!

Just thought I would share this fun ribbon detail that I used for Brooke's birthday party! I have had these glass jars for a long time! So I thought they would look cute as party decor! I just found some ribbon in coordinating party colors and placed it in the jars. The best part of this is that I can still use the ribbon! I love these jars!

The Birthday Hat

There were so many crafty touches I wanted to add to Brooke's 1st Birthday party. Here is her party hat!

Of course...at this age, it was mostly for show...she didn't want to wear it. She wanted to get to the cake!

See...I was just trying to tie it and she was already taking it off.

So Daddy tried to eat it.

And that made baby happy!

Here is the hat. I just used Sticky Strip to hold the hat together and then hot glued on the pom poms. Used the cricut to create the scallop circle and 1!

The Birthday Banner

So with it being my first child's first birthday, I am trying really hard to make it special! And what does a crafty Mom do? She makes crafty things for birthday parties, I suppose!

I decided that I would make a banner for Brooke that simply says her name. This way we can use it in her room or at each birthday or where ever we want!

I started by measuring out the ribbon to the length that I wanted it...I just used my picture frames to hold it there! Then I cut the little pennants and attached them on to the ribbon with office binder clips so I could get the rigth spacing!

Close up of those binder clips! Good think I love office supplies!

Then I cut the other pieces for the pennant that attached them with the binder clip as well. I hand cut the scallop and used my Cricut (Mickey Mouse font) to cut out the letters. I did all of the layer in felt except the letters are just in cardstock. I figured that the letters will look a lot better than if I were to trace around the CS version and hand cut them out.

Here is a close up of one of the pennants! Her theme this year is pink, brown, green and white polka dots!! When it was all assembled with binder clips, I used my hot glue gun to glue it all together! Fast and easy! Here's a tip also...if you have a lot of hot glue strings when you are done, take you embossing gum or a hair dryer and run it over them...they disappear! WOO HOO!

I then added a few other ribbons to the ends and there you have it! And I'm still using the picture frames to hold it up there! And I have since cleaned my fireplace...those tiles are dirty!! Hope you enjoy the banner!

One Whole Year

The whole idea of me taking monthly pictures on this Stendig calendar was to document it at the end of the year and see how much Brooke has grown! So I used My Digital Studio to create a layout where all 13 pictures were the same size and on one page! I love seeing the pregression of the year...

Above you will see a full body shot on the calendar...I tried to position her in the same place every month but it got incresingly difficult! ha ha!

And here you can see a close up of her face every month. Isn't it amazing how much they change in a year?? I think it will be fun to continue this tradition every year with a favorite picture from each month of my little ones. And with MDS it's super easy to create and I don't have to pay to have 12 (13 in this case) pictures printed out!

Happy Birthday baby girl!

Brooke Turns 1!

Happy Birthday Baby girl! Watch for another post today with a layout of pictures throughout this past year! And come back tomorrow for a sneak peak at her party decor!

More Valentines for Brooke!

Here is a card that her Grandma Kathy made her...

I just love the color combo!

And here's Brooke showing off her Valentine's money! After a short trip in her mouth, it went right to the piggy bank! Thanks Grandmas and Grandpas!

Brooke's Valentine

Brooke received this Valentine in the mail from her Grandma Jean and Grandpa Don! I love the felt embellishment! And this is great use of her new Sale-a-Bration punch!!

More of Brooke's Valentine's tomorrow during this Valentine week!

You and Moi

So yesterday I showed you what Hubby made me. Today you get to see the card I made him!

I used some DSP from the Sweet Pea DSP pad! Also used the I{Heart} Hearts stamp set and a sentiment from the You & Moi stamp set! It reads, "You and Moi? Oh la la!" The cute little brads that I added are by American Crafts. Quick, simple, and manly!

Catching Up...

Since I missed blogging yesterday...cause I wasn't feeling up to it...I figure that I should do a catch up blog post today so that I will still get in my 28 posts for the month of February!

I would like to share one of my favorite blogs with you: Tavianna Orlando.

She is the wife of one of our pastors at church and when I discovered she had a blog, I added her to my google reader as fast as I could. She home schools and just adopted a little girl from China. She does crafts and posts about just every day things going on in their lives. I hope you enjoy it!

My Valentine

My Hubby is so sweet! He, often times, will venture down to the craft room to make me a card for Valentine's Day or my birthday. So here is what he came up with this year...

He went down to my craft room and then had to come up a few minutes later to ask where a few things were! Ha ha!

His caption was, "You have captured my heart! (It is a good thing!)." Don't you think that's clever?! And here is his card from last year...last one showcased in this post.

Thank you Ba! ily!

So I sold it to them. But before I did, I used it to stamp a bunch of cards so I can create this card over and over again! YEAH!

Don't you just love it with the cute Melon Mambo ribbon?!!!

Shoebox Swap Part 2

Here are part two of the cards from last Friday.

This was my card. I just love that the Whisical Words (Sale-A-Bration stamp set) stamps fit in this image from the Great Friend stamp set (#113792 $17.95).

This card was made by Becky. She used some great things from the new mini: Sending Love DSP and I {Heart} Hearts stamp set. As well as the Whimsical Words SAB stamp set that I used above.

And the last card was made by my Mother-in-law, Jean. It's it so pretty?! I don't even know what stamp set this is...can you tell us Jean?

Thanks ladies for making such cute cards and for having fun with me on a Friday night!

Shoebox Swap Part 1

On Friday night I had a few of my customers over for a shoebox swap. This meant that each of us created a card and cut the supplies so that everyone else could make it too! There were 6 of us total that participated this time around and our cards are so cute! Here is the first half of them...

Card created by my Mom, Kathy. I love, love, love this! It makes me really love the Medallion stamp (#115223 $17.95).

This one was made by Colette. So simple and so cute! She used the GREAT corduroy buttons in Basic Gray (#114345 $9.95). I just love these buttons!

And this cute bug card was made by Jessica. She used the stamp set Bugs & Kisses (#116580 $26.95) and she also used some corduroy buttons (Pumpkin Pie #114342 $9.95 and Summer Sun #114343 $9.95). Love this!

Birthday Card for Jinny

So back in January my friend Jinny had a birthday. I was a little late getting her a birthday card. But better late than never...right?!

Here is the card that I made. I got to use a lot of stuff on this card! Sweet pea DSP, white gel pen, my new dot background stamp (not SU), and a cute Butterfly Accent stamp (#119211 $7.95)! I think she liked it!

2.07.2010

I'm Loving the Sweet Pea!

I am just loving all of this Sweet Pea stuff...aren't you?!
Above is the Sweet Pea Designer Series Paper Pack (#117116, $24.95). You get 2 each of 24 double-sided papers!! This paper is a GREAT deal!

And here are the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt pieces (#117266, $7.95). You get 52 pieces total! I'm already on pack #2! I love them so much!!

So I used both of these items to creat the following page:

The great thing about some of these papers is that they have designs printed on them. So you just cut and place your pictures on them and it looks like you did a lot to the page when you really didn't!!!

Don't you love this simple page! And did I mention that the background is Melon Mambo?!! :)

Reusing Cards

Have you ever received a card and thought...this would make a GREAT scrapbooking embellishment?! Well that is what I did when I received a turkey day card from my Mother-in-Law this past Thanksgiving.

The papers on this page are by American Crafts. I just love their stuff! Although, I wish their papers were double sided...but that's ok! The leaves on this page were made using my Cricut!

And here is what I reused! This turkey was on a card...I just popped him off the card front and glued him on my scrapbook page. NEAT-O huh?! Thanks for taking the time to make my scrapbook embellishment Jean! :)

Same layout...different pictures...

So you all remember this layout that I just posted a few days ago. Well it was birthed from the below layout...
On this lovely layout I used the remaining pieces of the Autumn Meadows DSP from the Holiday Mini Catalog. I love that paper! Wish I had more!! But that's ok...there are other papers to love now!

If you haven't already figured it out...this is the layout of my 10 year High School Reunion that was held this past summer. Such a fun page and fun pictures!

This was a pretty normal week...just 7 pictures and 7 journaling cards!

And here are all of the pictures up close!

This is all I have created so far! But I will keep you updated on the progress of my album. I can't wait until the year is over so I can see what it will look like!
