Swinging in January!

Ok...I know I say this a lot...but I think I'm back to blogging!  How about 4-5 posts per week from me?  Does that sound good???

Here is a layout that I did of Mr. Noah swinging for the first time.  This was really special because it was about 65 degrees in January.  So what do you do on a very nice day when it's supposed to be very cold?  You go play at the park with friends...of course!!!

This layout uses one of my current obsessions...washi tape!  I love that stuff!  It's on almost all of my creations that I make at the moment and I wouldn't have it any other way!

And just because they are both SO cute!  Here is a picture of both of my kiddos swinging in January!  YAY!  (Brooke - 3 years, Noah - 4 months)

Stylin' Stampin' Squad Blog Hop!!

This month it was my goal to show you all some NEW items, since the new Idea Book & Catalog came out this past week!

I created all in My Digital Studio again this month.  This card showcases all of the new In Colors for 2012-2014!!  They are: Raspberry Ripple, Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals, Summer Starfruit, and Gumball Green.  Each one of the hearts is a new color...listed above in order!  Do you like them???

I then used the digital stamp set, Seriously Awesome (#130064).  I love it and I'm kinda sad it's not a true stamp set...I would totally buy it!! 

My second project is a digital scrapbook page.  I love this picture of my hubby and I wanted to share it with you on a layout!  Did you know that if you own MDS you can get a banner punch!  It was so handy in creating this layout!  I love the added touch of color in the corner!

Friday Favorites

I have a good friend that likes to do her favorites on Fridays on her blog and this week I'm joining in!

You will notice that there are no Stampin Up items on this list.......while I do love all things Stampin Up, I am ready for the new catalog to become current in just 8 days.  Then I will be able to share images with you and tell you all of my favorite NEW Stampin Up items!

Now on to my favs!

#1: WASHI TAPE!  If you have read my blog in the past few weeks, you already know about my obessesion!  While my collection is not this big, it is growing and I can't stop myself from buying a really cute pattern of washi when I see one!  I have gained most of my collection from Two Peas!

#2: "GENUINE" BINGO PAPER by My Mind's Eye!  There are some papers that you use and then just want to get rid of and THEN there are those that you save every-single-little-scrap of to use on another project.  And maybe you even go out to your local scrapbook store to buy a few more sheets of it...just in case you want to use it on like 20 other layouts in the future!  (Hypotheically of course!)

Now on to the not so scrappy favorites in my life...

#3: CONNECTED NECKLACE by Lisa Leonard.  I got this for Mother's Day and I love it!  Of course, I picked it out, but I still LOVE it!  :)  I love all of Lisa's stuff...always good for a Mother's Day gift, in my opinion!

#4: CONTIGO Insulated Stainless Steel Water Bottle.  I read about these on Janetha's blog.  She loves them and I have an addiction to water bottles.  But I think my addiction and search for the perfect water bottle has ended.  These are the BEST water bottles I have ever owned...ever!

First of all, if you have a Costco membership (or know someone who does), buy them there...Two of these bottles for $19.99!  Second, they really, REALLY do keep your water COLD for hours on end!  I can fill it up with ice and water at night and in the morning...it's STILL COLD!  Great for summer in the hot car when you want a cold drink but don't want to carry your water bottle around with you in every store or location you are at.

#5: INFINITY SCRAF - Pink and Grey.  I couldn't find an exact picture of mine but this one is very close...except take out the orange and put in pink!  I love the infinity scarf and this light weight, t-shirt material one is the BEST!

#6: PRINTED POCKET SKIRT in red by Old Navy!  I bought this yesterday because I was in search of Old Navy's $2 tank tops (I got 8 of them) yesterday...WHAT A DEAL!  And this skirt was right there and it was only $12 and SO CUTE!  I bought it without trying it on because I had 2 kids with me :) and was plesantly surprised that night when I tried it on and LOVED IT!  I think I'm going back today for 2 more!  Such a good deal...almost like 3 skirts for the price of one at the $12/skirt price!!

#7: COSTCO BABY WIPES.  They best wipes out there for the price/thickness combination that I like!  You get nine packs of 100 wipes for just $19.99 in Kansas (2 cents per wipe).  The only other wipes that come close to the same quality, in my opinion, are Huggies and they are much more expensive.  I love Costco!

#8: ORANGE CHICKEN by Trader Joe's.  YUM!  This meal is my of my favorites to make because it's SO easy and it's SO yummy!  I love making it when I don't really feel like cooking!  The chicken is $4.99 at TJ's.  And I like to pair it when a pouch of their brown rice which is so yummy and comes with 3 pouches to a box for only $2.99!

Mother's Day Card #3

This is the last Mother's Day card that I made this year.  I gave this one to my Grandma.

I used a Crumb Cake cardstock (SU) base for the card.  This card was really simple!  Just added 5 strips of different washi tape directly to the cardstock base, used dimensionals to attach the My Mind's Eye butterfly to the card and then used some SU jewel rhinestones just the center of the butterfly for some bling!  And DONE!  So easy and, in my opinion, SO CUTE!

Mother's Day Card #2

Here is the second card that I created for Mother's Day this year.  This one went to my mom.

I used most of the same things as the last card I created but added in on different item: Studio Calico wood veneer hearts.  I actually went a little crazy and got alot of wood veneer items from Studio Calico.  I have: Butterflies, Hearts and Arrows, Stars, Cameras and People!  So you might be seeing a few projects featuring those in the very near future!

Mother's Day Card #1

I thought I would let you in on the Mother's Day cards that I created this year!

I am IN LOVE with Washi Tape right now!  Addicted would even be a fair thing to call it!  I have washi tape from Target, Two Peas, and even Archiver's!  I currently have 17 rolls (with 5 more on the way to my house...hey...there was a deal!) and I used 9 of them on this card!

This card was created with a Basic Gray Stampin Up cardstock base.  The tag with diecut hearts is from Pebbles.  I just covered it with washi tape from my collection...9 of them!  Washi tape was also adhered to the cardstock base.

I then used a little My Mind's Eye twine for the bow and stuck it to the tag with a glue dot.  The circle embellishment was created with Stampin Up's 1-3/8" circle punch, covered in washi tape and then punched a heart with the small heart SU punch!

I love this card and I hope that my Mother-in-Law did too!

Stylin' Stampin' Blog Hop - May!

I just wanted to share with you all the state of my craft room.

Here is a card that I made as a Mother's Day greeting for my best friend that just became a mom this year!  I love the Circle Circus stamp set...it's so versatile and SO CUTE!  So glad it's not retiring this year!  :)

Grey and yellow is one of my most favorite things at this point in time.  I just can't get enough of it!

And here is my scrapbook page.  This is the page that we made for club this month.  After finishing Noah's 4 month pictures on this layout I thought of Brooke's 4 month layout that looks VERY similar!  Ha ha!  Check it out here!

We focused on the emboss resist technique.  We used the A to Z single stamp with white Embossing Powder (EP).  Then we sponged Early Espresso over it!  I love this technique!

And of course I had to add in some banners!  :)  That little heart from the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set is SO CUTE!  I think I might have to keep the set just for that heart pattern.  It's just too perfect for guys!

Birthday Card - by Brooke

Brooke was invited to a friend's birthday party SO...I had her create her own card for Libby!

I set out a bunch of papers and tapes and colored pencils and she just went at it.  The only thing I did for her was put glue on the back of the papers and tear the tapes.  She loved sitting and creating and it made me think that we should do this more often!  :)

April's Blog Hop

OK...so give me a little break!  I moved this month and I'm still trying to unpack a few boxes each day and get organized!  Blogging has seemed to be last on my list this month.  But we are slowly getting settled and we did get an offer on our old house this week...so all is good and I should be back here more often (once I get my taxes done)!

I am IN LOVE with banners these days!  I use them on almost everything I make!  I created this card for a birthday card class I am having this month.  Cute and Simple...that's my style!

And here is my other project this month, an Easter scrapbook layout.  This layout was created for my club in March. 

These pictures were from a whole year ago...my little girl looks so tiny!

I LOVE this ribbon egg!  It was so much fun to make and I just love how it looks on the page!

I love making grass out of cardstock!  It's so easy with your snips!  Just cut very thin blades of grass and run your fingers over them, back and forth, to create a natural grass look!

Stylin' Stampin' Blog Hop

It's that time of the month...the first Thursday!  Time for another blog hop!

This month we were working on Spring/Baby or St. Patrick's Day items.  And this month I decided to go all digital and use My Digital Studio for both of my projects!  I also used some Pinterest pins of mine for inspiration.  Check them out!

This card is 5"x7".  The base is Crumb Cake.  The papers that I used are from the Everyday Enchantment DSP that is only available for one more month as a Sale-a-Bration benefit!  Love these papers for all things Spring!  I also used an Everyday Enchanment Brad, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla Grosgrain Ribbon and Pearls.

One my favorite things about using My Digital Studio to create is that you can take a punch (the scallop and the heart) and make them any size you want!  You can't do that with traditional punches.

Pinterest Inspiration.

My other item this month is a 12x12 scrapbook page of the first time my son used a sippy cup.  Isn't he adorable??!!  That's Noah!

Colors used: Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Not Quite Navy, Real Red and Old Olive.

One of my most favorite embellishment that Stampin Up has for MDS is the tape!  It comes in 4 different colors and I LOVE to use it!

My Digital Studio TIP: Be sure to add a "Drop Shadow" to every element that you add to your page.  This will just give your page more dimension!
