Scrapbook Challege #3 and #4

SCRAPBOOK CHALLENGE #3: Create your own pattern paper for a scrapbook page.

SCRAPBOOK CHALLENGE #4: Use the Big Shot on a scrapbook page.

Margie completed TWO challenges with just one scrapbook page! She was the only one that got around to completing either of these challengs! Go Margie!

All of the butterflies on this page where made using the Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die (#118138 $11.95). I just love how it embosses and die cuts out 5 butterflies at one time!!

She also used stamps from the Priceless stamp set to creat a strip of patterned paper along the left side of this layout! I just love this whole page! Good job Margie!

Card Challenge #2

CARD CHALLENGE #2: Create a card using only scraps. You may used a new piece of cardstock for the base of the card and you can also use some whisper white or very vanilla if there is none in your scraps!

This first card was created by Kathy. I think she completed every one of the challenges that applied to cards! Way to go! She managed to use ALL scraps for this card except the Crumb Cake card base! I just love how it turned out and think I might have to create one of these for myself later!!

This card was created by Jean. All pieces were scraps except for the card base! WOW! I just love this color combo too! I love how a little paper piercing adds so much to a card! So cute!

Remember to come back tomorrow for more challenge results and link up if you would like to take part in any of these challenges with us!

Scrapbook Challenge #2

SCRAPBOOK CHALLENGE #2 - Create a layout using 3 punches.

(Please excuse my pictures that will not load in the correct direction. I guess Blogger is smarter than me and thinks the pictures should face this way. So you will have to turn you head quarter turn to the right!)

Sara created this first layout. She used the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle punch (#118874 $16.95), 1-3/4" Scallop Circle punch (#119854 $16.95), and the retired Three Flower punch. I just love her color combo too! Brown and Green is one of my favorites!

Jean created this layout. She used the Scallop Edge Border punch (#119882 $15.95), 1-3/4" Scallop Circle punch, and the Photo Corners Punch (#119878 $16.95). This layout also completes the "One Picture on a page" challenge. And it kind of even completes another challenge that you will hear about later this week!

Margie completed this layout. She used the 3/4" Circle punch (#119873 $10.95), Photo Corner punch, and the retired Three Flowers punch. I love this Basic Grey patterned paper that she used! SO CUTE!

And here is my take on the challenge. I used the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle punch, 1-3/4" Circle punch (#119850 $16.95), and the Scallop Edge Border punch. This is all about the day when my daughter started walking. (Click on the picture to enlarge and see the journaling.) This page would also complete the previous scrapbook challenge of "one picture on the page".

Card Challenge #1

CARD CHALLENGE #1 - Create a card to send this week!

My mom, Kathy, made this cute birthday card to send to her sister-in-law. I just love the use of the Basic Grey "Olivia" collection DSP. It goes great with SU colors: Basic Grey and Regal Rose.

My mother-in-law, Jean, made this card. She said it was to send to a sweet little grand-daughter of hers. She only has one, and that's my daughter! I love the use of the new Crumb Cake ink! That's gonna quickly become a new favorite of mine!

And here is the card that I created this week to send. I am hosting a baby shower for my sister-in-law and these are the invitations for her party! Don't you just love that giraffe ribbon! Found it at Walmart!!

Come back tomorrow for more challenge results and remember if you want to play along and create a card to send this week, link up in the comment section! I would love to see what you are sending out!

CROP Challenges

Last Saturday I had my monthly crop. This time around I held it at my house. I decided that we needed something fun to do at the crop, something to challenge us to think outside of our normal crafty comforts. SO...I came up with 10 challenges! And here I am to blog about them, one per day for the next 10 days!

There are 5 challenges for cards and 5 for scrapbooking. Please feel free to play along with what we did and post a link to your blog or picture in the comments section! Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Scrapbook Challenge #1 - Create a page using just one picture!

This first page was created by Sara! She was working on her honeymoon scrapbook with pictures of her wonderful tropical vacation!

And I guess we were looking at the same page in our Creating Keepsakes magazine for inspiration, cause I thought this page was super cute too! Here is my take on the one picture layout challenge! I just love this kit (A Walk in the Park) from Echo Park. I found it on Ebay.

I also did this page. I wasn't thinking of a challenge when I created it but it does only have one picture on the page. So it counts!!

Close up of journaling: "I set you free to eat oatmeal all on your own this morning! Messy but FUN! :)"

Don't forget to link up your projects in the comments if you play along and come back tomorrow for more challenge fun!

Tropical Getaway!!

I just love all of these fun projects that I got to make at the shoebox swap! They all make me want to take a vacation!

The above card used 3 new things from the summer mini: Tropical Party Stamp Set (WM #118515 $17.95, CM #120081 $13.95), In a Word Stamp Set (WM #117143 $12.95, CM #120057 $9.95), and Island Oasis DSP (#117173 $9.95). I have to say that I just LOVE that Island Oasis DSP. I have used it for a lot of club and personal projects...I will have to show some to you soon!

This card also uses the Tropical Party stamp set and Island Oasis DSP. But we added in Textured Impressions Embossing Folder in the Summer Mini...Square Lattice (#119976 $7.95). I love the texture that it adds to this card! And aren't the rhinestone brads just perfect!!

This project would be a great favor bag for a Hawaiian birthday party. I also saw it used (flat) as a scrapbook page embellishment! It uses the new Bigs Die...Island Floral (#118871 $21.95).

And this cute little box would make the perfect favor carrier for a wedding or a party of any type. I love the use of the Island Oasis DSP and the cute handles made with some of our punches!! And I love the Tiny Tags Stamp Set (WM #118091 $22.95, CM #118592 $16.95) that was carried over to the new catalog from the Holiday Mini! So cute!

Watercolor Trio

We also made this card at the shoebox swap using the stamp set from the Summer Mini...Watercolor Trio (WM #117050 $22.95, CM #120084 $16.95).
While we didn't use thies stamp set for watercoloring in this card, I can only imagine the possibilities of using it with inks, spritzing with water and stamping on watercolor paper. Or Water Color Crayons! Sounds like FUN!

7.24.2010

New Stamp Sets

This card uses 2 new stamp sets: Printed Petals from the new catalog (WM #116679 $19.95, CM #120444 $14.95) and In a Word from the Summer Mini (WM #117143 $12.95, CM#120057 $9.95).
I got to make this card at the shoebox swap I attended about a month ago. I just LOVE the black and pink (Melon Mambo) color combo! Of course this could be because I'm partial to Melon Mambo and love it!

This card is really super simple and oh so cute! It was created by Shelly May, who just found out she was #64 Demonstrator of the year!!! That's out of thousands and thousands of demos! CONGRATS GIRL!

7.23.2010

Trendy Trees

This card was made using a few colors that are no retired through Stampin Up...Crushed Curry and Dusty Durango. But I think it would look equally as cute with the color combo of Daffodil Delight and Tangerine Tango!

I just love this Trendy Trees stamp set (page 110 of the catalog, #113258 $17.95). It is made to two-spet stamp, meaning the trunks and the leaf portions are seperate. And I just love the simple type of the two sayings that are included in this set: "thinking of you" and "thanks so much". There is also a whell that coordinates, Funky Forest (#114695 $6.50).

Decor Stencils

This is another card that I created at our shoebox swap! It was so much fun to use a new stamp set AND some of Stampin Up's stencils!!

The stamp set is featured in Chocolate Chip ink. It is the new Elements of Style (WM #118611 $27.95, CM #120045 $19.95) from the Summer mini. The Mostly Vintage stencil (#118877 $9.95) is featured on the left side of the card. We just held it in place and used white paint from a local craft store. It was so easy and it created such a cute card!

7.13.2010

Wanna Host a Workshop??

You could earn this stamp set...

And make this card with it...

This is another one from the shoebox swap. I love how this stamp set is made to work with 5 of our punches!!! And I'm sure there are ways that you can use other punches with it too! So you want to earn this stamp set for free all you have to do is have a workshop for your friends and family and get $300 in sales! Not too bad, huh?!!

I Scream, You Scream...

In a previous post I mentioned that I went to a shoebox swap a while back and was going to share all of my samples from that swap. Well I shared the card I created and nothing else. So here goes...

I just love this card. I was made using 2 stamp sets from the Summer Mini catalog: Sweet Scoops (WM #117078 $18.95, CM #120078 $14.95) & In a Word (WM #117143 $12.95, CM #120057 $9.95). We also used some of the Island Oasis DSP (#117173 $9.95). I thought one great idea from this card was using small punched circles instead of brads or eyelets. This will cut down on the bulk of the card and it's a really cheap embellishment!

Scrapbook Club

In June the hostess of our club wanted to make a kid friendly page using the stamp set Fox & Friends. I created the above layout to put pictures of our Topeka zoo trip on. We also used the Tropical DSP from the summer mini! See...you don't need to have tropical vacations to use this paper! I love the stripes and polka dots!

I also pulled out the spiral notebook punch...haven't used that one in a LONG time!

At of course I had to add some satin ribbon! There isn't a crafting project that would be complete without using satin ribbon! Seriously...I think I'm obsessed!

Happy Father's Day!

Here is my hubby and daughter on Father's Day! Just thought I would show you all how cute they are together!

And then I thought I would share how cute the Father's Day card was that I made for my hubby. It was inspired by this card that Kristina Werner created.

I also wanted to share the card that Sam's mom made for him. Isn't this pair of jeans just too cute??!!

Super Simple card

My friend Colette made this card. She uses this template a lot and has a ton of paper to work with...she's a paper-aholic! It's basically 2 different designer papers with a cute embellishment in the middle and a sentiment. Super EASY and CUTE!

Here's another idea from Colette: Next time you send a card, write your message on a post-it and stick it inside the card. This way the person receiving it can use the card again to send to a friend! So clever!
