December Daily - Day 1

For the past few years, I have sat by and watched Ali Edwards create her December Daily album and have LOVED the results! The basic concept of the album is that you document your life for each day in December up until Christmas. You can read more about it here.

You try to create the base of the album before December even rolls around! This was a little bit of a challenge but I managed to get it done! Then as the days progress all you have to do is print pictures and journal. Here are a few pages from my album...

The cover...I am using an 8.5x8.5 chipboard album from Stampin Up. It's easy and it has plenty of room because it's a 3-ring binder.

My layouts are very simple. When I add my pictures to the page, I will probably embellish a little bit more.

I just tried to leave enough room for a 4x6 picture or a few cropped pictures and journaling.

I am excited to see this album come together!

Now...since I don't have a photo printer, I will be using my blog as my journal so that I have all of my pictures and journaling I want to use for my book in one spot! I told my mom that I would start a Word document but why not share my December daily happenings with you?!! I will probably print my photos once a week.

Day 1 . December 1st, 2009

While at the craft store, I decided to get some ribbon to embellish my Christmas presents. For the past few years we have wrapped our Christmas presents in the brown packing paper that Stampin Up stuffs their boxes with (recycle!). Because we spend no money on wrapping paper, I like to get some cute ribbon to embellish with! I think this year's stash is awesome! 81 yards!!

What a super, fun idea! Looking forward to seeing what you do every day AND the completed book!
