Stylin' Stampin' Blog Hop: November

This month we are focusing on Thanksgiving/Thankful cards and projects!  I hope you are enjoying the hop so far!  Aren't these ladies talented?!

Here is what I came up with this month...

First is my card.  I created this card for a class that I'm holding on Core'dinations Cardstock!  I just LOVE that stuff!  It's my new favorite!  I lightly sanded the edges first and then I ran it through my Big Shot with the woodgrain embossing folder and sanded over top of that too.

I then used some DSP and leaves from the Wonderfall stamp set to complete this card!

Our project this month is supposed to be something that we would give a hostess at a workshop.  Well mine was actually a prize at an event I just held.  Everyone who placed an order was put in a drawing for a singl stamp of their choice.  Don't you just LOVE the new single stamps?!!  And at $5 or so, they are perfect for a little gift!

I hope you have time to continue on the hop today!  You won't be disappointed!

Baby Shower Card...It's a Girl!

Yesterday I went to a baby shower for a long-time friend...I've actually known her for about 18 years.  She is pregnant with her first and I'm so excited for her and her hubby to welcome their little girl in January...maybe even on my birthday!!

Here is the card that I made for her...

I started this card with a Whisper White cardstock base.  There is just something about a white card base that I LOVE!  It's so clean and crisp!

The DSP that I add is old Stampin Up that I found in my scrap box!  The cute giraffe comes from the retired Wild About You stamp set.  I just can't get rid of this set.  Just look how stinkin cute he is with a googly eye!  And I also added on some rhinestone jewels to bling him out a bit!

The layer of Early Espresso Core'dinations Cardstock below the giraffe is my favorite!  I just lightly sanded it and got a cute distressed edge!  LOVE!

I am entering this card in a few challenges!  The first is Unscripted Sketches #183.

And the second is Less is More #92...Use the Color Pink!

Hope you enjoy!  :)

CAS-ual Fridays #77

CAS-UAL Fridays is putting on a great challenge this week!  Check it out...

Who doesn't need more masculine cards in your stash?  I know I do!

So here is my take on the challenge...

I started this card with a Midnight Muse card base!  I just love that new color!  Then I added in pops of Gumball Green and Baja Breeze.

The stamped image comes from the stamp set: Moving Forward (Clear Mount #126322 $14.95, Wood Mount #126320 $19.95), which is this year's Ronald McDonald House stamp set.  For every set purchased, Stampin Up will donate $3 to the charity!

I finished this card out with a cute little Bronze button tied with some white baker's twine.

Hope you enjoy!

Hiding in My Craft Room #70

This week our challenge at HIMCR is: Use Your 3 Favorite Colors!  Mine are Melon Mambo, Lucky Limeade and Pool Party.  That Basic Gray is just a BONUS because it's a neutral!

This week Hiding in My Craft Room is sponsored by Scrapbook Stamp Society.  We were all given these digital images to work with this week and I just love mine: Poppy by Mitzi Sato-Wiuff.

I thought this one looked very pretty in black and white.  Hope you enjoy my card!  Please be sure to visit all of the other girls on the design team this morning and enter a card this week for a chance to win 3 of the 5 digis that the design team featured!

Club Page...Embossing on DSP

I just wanted to share with you the scarpbook page that we made for club this past month.  The hostess wanted to emboss on DSP.  So the whole idea started off of those cute turquoise butterflies on the DSP.
I used Tempting Turquoise as my cardstock base and added in Crumb Cake cardstock and DAP from the In Color stack and Early Edition pack by Stampin Up!

The butterflies were stamped in colors to match the DSP and punced or cut out.  They come from the stamp set: Papillion Potpouri.  I attached the two butterflies together using a glue dot and then bent the wings of the smaller one up.  Then attached to the layout with a dimensional.

I also used some cute In Color ruffled ribbon and jewels!  I just love this page!  Don't you?!?

Hiding in My Craft Room #69

This week at HIMCR we are focusing on Thankful cards.

Forgive me ahead of time for my lack of typing in this post.  I burned two of my fingers this week while making Halloween costumes and had two blisters two finger tips of my right hand.  The only thing that really seems to bother them is typing!

Here is my card.  We used a digital stamp from Naomi this week.  It was my first time using a digi, I kinda liked it.  If you like it too, it's free on her blog...go check it out!

Thanks for coming to check out my card.  Make sure to stop by all of the other design team members' blogs!  The creations are awesome!

SIT #91

I'm back with another Sketches in Thyme layout.  I am loving the sketches that they are having and I expecially love the two-page layouts!

I started this layout by gathering a few of my favorite designer papers at the moment.  Then I added in a Basic Gray cardstock base.

I make a layout of my favorite pictures from each month of the first year of life.  This way I'm not making 20 layouts per month (where would I put all of those albums?).

I love these little number cards by Sassafras.  And those pearls in silver and black are from Close to My Heart

And don't you just LOVE those little alphabet stickers?!  They are by Basic Grey!

An don't forget about that cute little dude...he's cute too!

Here is the sketch for this week at SIT, if you want to play along and I hope you do!

JAI 140

I thought I would play along with Just Add Ink's challenge this weekChallenge #140 was to use Chevrons.  Chevrons are H-O-T right now and all I can say is that I LOVE the trend!

Here is my card...

I used the color combination of: Pool Party, Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso.  I love this color combo!  I think it makes a great untraditional Christmas card.  What do you think?

The Chevron and torn layers on this card were created using Stampin Up's new Core'dinations Cardstock that has a different color core!  So when you sand it or tear it, you will see the other color and all I can say is that I LOVE IT!

The chevron layer was created by using the Chevron Embossing Folder and then lightly sanding over the top of it.  So neat!  I will be using this one a lot, I think!

Hope you like it!

CAS(E) this Sketch #2 and MME Challenge

I had a little time away to creat this weekend.  Just got to step out of the house on Friday night to head to church for a few hours and scrapbook!  I did sneak in a little time at the end of the night to play along with CAS(E) this Sketch too!  Check it out!

(Card removed for publication.)

I created this card on a black base with a white layer on top.  I then added in a few My Mind's Eye goodies!  The hexagon washi tape and the polka dot paper!

(Card removed for publication.)

The double layered butterfly is also from MME.  The gray striped washi tape is not...but it just went so well with the others, I had to add it in there.

Are you wondering why I tried to use mostly MME products on this card?  Well...I'm entering it in a challenge over there too!  Challenges get me creating and there are so many great ones out there!  Check them out!

The sentiment on this stamp set come from Stampin Up's Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

Here is the sketch from this week!  I love the simplicity...totally me!

See you back here tomorrow with some more crafty goodness!

HIMCR #68: Die Cuts

Our Challenge this week at Hiding In My Craft Room is to use Die Cuts.  So Simple, right?!?!

I broke out my favorite Sizzix dies.  That little cupcake is the best!!!

I started this card with a Cherry Cobbler card base.  The designer papers all come from My Mind's Eye (Can you tell what one of my favorite companies is right now?).

The cute heart is wood veneer from Studio Calico.  And the "happy day" sentiment came from a Close to My Heart stamp set that I just got!

Hope you all enjoy my card and please head on over to the HIMCR blog to see what the rest of the design team has come up with...you are gonna love it!
