Practical Scrappers: Frugal Finds-Stamping with Household Items

Today at Practical Scrappers we are talking about Stamping with Household Items!
I chose toy cars as my household item. We have a ton of them at our house so I knew it would be easy to find, give great texture to a card for a little boy and be super fun!
Here is the car that I chose from the play room.
I rolled the tires in my black ink pad (that really needs to be reinked!) and then rolled on the Whisper White cardstock.  I reinked and rolled again...over and over until I had the look I was trying to achieve.
This is a fun item to stamp with and it would even be fun for kids to get in on the action!
Make sure that you stop by Practical Scrappers today to see what other household items the design team is stamping with!

Practical Scrappers: Inspired by Pinterest

I love the challenge we have a Practical Scrappers to be inspired by Pinterest to create something.  I am on Pinterest multiple times a day and I just LOVE getting inspiration for my cards and scrapbook pages there!
Before I show you my card, I have to tell you that I LOVE the work of Kimberly Van Diepen.  She is a Stampin' Up Demonstrator too and does great work!  It's so much fun to see what she comes up with every day.  She always seems to have something new!
So here is the pin that inspired me.  I love the way Kimberly's card came together and even though I used it as inspiration to create one that is almost the same, I still like hers a lot better!

We are attending a wedding on Saturday and I knew I needed to create a card to give the lovely new Mr. & Mrs.  So here you have it!
I hope you enjoyed both of the cards I posted today.  Be sure to head on over to the Practical Scrappers blog to see what the other Design Team members came up with today!

Hiding In My Craft Room #99: Happy Father's Day!

This week at HIMCR we are getting ready for Father's Day.  And you can too if you play along with us!  Create a card to give that special dad in your life or a scrapbook page about your father.  Link up below...we would love to see what you are creating!
This month I decided to go with a thank you card for a man.  The Best Dad Ever Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! has so many fun ties in it!  I just love this set!
Please make sure to stop on by the HIMCR blog to see what the other designers created for today!

Practical Scrappers: May Card Sketch

It's time for another great sketch with Practical Scrappers!
Here is what we had to work from this month...
And here is the card that I came up with...
Polariods, polka dot washi tape, chevron, diagonal lines, enamel dots...all things that are popular right now and I LOVE THEM!
Please be sure to stop by the Practical Scrappers blog today to see what all of the other design team members created!  There are some great cards!

My Paper Pumpkin May Kit: Good Life Brag Book

My Paper Pumpkin's May Kit is SO MUCH FUN!
If you are new to stamping this is a great program for you!  Each month you get supplies and tools to create a fun project.  (Adhesive not included.)
This month we got the supplies to make a brag book...mini 5"x5" scrapbook!
Here is my cover!

I have a few pages done on the inside...but still have a lot more to go in order to finish!  I decided to use mine for my favorite pictures of the moment.  All are instagram pictures that I printed to be 4" x 4".  I would probably recommend that you print smaller pictures...I am having to cut mine down a little in order to fit anything else on the page!

Of course I'm adding in a few things from my stash of supplies but most of the items are included in the kit!

Each month we have received an ink spot, tiny 1" x 1" ink pad, and a few stamps!  These stamps are exclusive to the Paper Pumpkin kits, can't buy them anywhere!

This month we received 2 each of these sheets of stickers.  They are heavy cardstock stickers.  The sheets are probably 6" x 6".

Here are the fun pieces of DSP that we got (6" x 6") and the hardware and button I have yet to use.

And each month comes with instructions!  Although this month there are only a few examples of pages so you have a lot of creative freedom!  Of, course you have creative freedom every month...you can change what you want and create your project just how you like.
If you are interested in trying My Paper Pumpkin, you can sign up here.  Please choose me, Kim Ryden, as your demonstrator.  You can stop of pause your account at any time.  The cost is $19.95 USD plus tax.  Shipping is FREE!  If you have any questions, let me know!

Hiding In My Craft Room #98: Faux Linen

This week at HIMCR we are using the Faux Linen technique.  I had never heard of it and I have to say that it was pretty fun to do!
So join us for challenge #98 and try it out if it's a new technique to you too!
You will find an instructional link here.
You will need:
Glossy White Cardstock
Sanding Block
Brown Ink
Sponge or another way to add ink to the cardstock
Here is my card.  You will see this technique on the white background mat.  Pictures just don't capture it's beauty!
Be sure to head on over to HIMCR today to see wha the other design team members created!  And don't forget to link up your own creation!

Practical Scrappers: May Layout Sketch

It's time for another layout sketch at Practical Scrappers.  Here is the sketch that we worked with this month...
And here is my take on it...
I used Stampin' Up!'s "For the Record Simply Scrappin' Layout Kit".  It's in the current Spring Catalog.  This kit can be ordered through May 31st here.
I just realized that I haven't journaled on this layout yet.  OOPS!  But it's all about how my little Noah man started loving Mater at 19 months.  He took this little car everywhere and called him "May-May".  So cute!
Be sure to check out what the other designers at Practical Scrappers did with the sketch this month.

Hiding In My Craft Room #97: Super Scraps Saturday!

It's time again to take whatever scraps you have laying around and make a card!  I love HIMCR's Super Scraps Saturday Challenge!  So join in the fun!
I am in need of birthday cards at my house!  SO...I made one in just 10 minutes today!  Everything was already laying out on my craft table (except I grabbed some buttons to match)!  See what you have that you didn't clean up from the last time your crafted and CREATE something beautiful!
Don't forget to link up your creations on the HIMCR site and head there to see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with for today!

Head on over to Pracitcal Scrappers today to see a whole bunch of two-page layouts and be inspired to scrapbook those events with more than 2 photos!
This layout is of my little boy when he was 19 months old.  I used the NEW This & That: Epic Day suite of products by Stampin' Up!  To see more, check out my website.
And...I couldn't leave you all without showing you close ups of my little man Noah...

Have a great weekend!

Hiding In My Craft Room #96: Pick Your Colors

Time for another weekly challenge with HIMCR!  This week you get to choose your own colors!  Or you can use my color combination to inspire you!
I picked the colors: Teal, Pink and Gray with a little Kraft and White in there as well!
Take note of the stamp!  Have you seen this one around?  It's from Stampin' Up! NEW set, Label Love that will be available on May 31st!  AND you can get a matching punch: Artisan Label.
So glad you stopped by this today!  Please make sure to go to the HIMCR blog to link up your challenge entry and see what colors the other design team members used this week!
