Hiding in My Craft Room #65

I'm so excited to announce that I am now a part of the Hiding in My Craft Room Design Team!  You can check out the post introducing all of us here!

So now on to my first challenge!  It's the 5th week of the month SO...anything goes!  Such an easy challenge to start with!  :)

I made a scrapbook page of my little girl (when she was 17 months old...she's 3.5 years old now) making cookies with Momma!  I used my very favorite papers from My Mind's Eye and a few fun things for Stampin Up too...of course!

I love adding little embellishments up in the corners of my scrapbook pages!  So sweet!

And these In Color Polka Dot Brads matched this paper perfectly!  I love how they added a pop of color to the grey and white!

I hope that you will come play along with us this week!

Product Information: Ribbon Slides

Once a month as the Inspiration Coordinator for my group of demonstrators, I pick one Stampin Up product and I give a ton of information about it and also samples of how to use it!  This month we focused on the Round Designer Ribbon Slides (#127834, $4.95 USD)!

If you want to participate in the challenge you can!  Just link up in the comments so that I can come see your project!

These ribbon slides are the perfect size to accent any of our 3/8" ribbon. Or you can create a gathered look with a wider ribbon. They have a high-quality antiqued silver finish. The container comes with 16 pieces, 9/16" in diameter.

My first project was a tag that I created for a gift basket.  My sister needed it for an auction at work.  I just glued a piece of ribbon down flat and then laced a smaller piece through a slide and tied it once.  I then adhered it with glue dots to the tag.

I think this is my favorite use of the ribbon slides that I came up with!  I just took a small piece (great use for ribbon scraps) and laced it through...no tying at all.  Then I adhered it to the card with glue dots.

This card is another favorite!  This ribbon slide is only laced through the top smalle ribbon and then glued on top of a wider piece of ribbon!  Love this look!

And here is the scrapbook page that we made in club this month.  We used the ribbon and slide just as I described on the tag above...just on a bigger canvas!

I hope you enjoyed my Ribbon Slide projects!

Inspiration Challenge #1

This week it's time to get a little inspiration from our resources as Stampin Up demonstrators.  I found this card on Stampin' Connection.  Our interactive website for demonstrators only.  The card is by Amanda Corbet.
The challenge is to use this card to get inspiration in any way that you...feel inspired!  :)  Check out my two cards!

I used the Jack of All Trades Stamp Set on both of my cards today.  For my first card I copied her layout pretty much piece for piece.  I did change out the papers and the stamp set though!

Supplies: Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Basic Black, DSP: Early Edition, Howlstooth & Scaringbone, Ink: Tangerine Tango, Early Espresso, Old Olive, Ribbon: Striped Satin Ribbon in Basic Black and Basic Gray, Stamp Set: Jack of All Trades, Embossing Folder: Perfect Polka Dots, Embellishment: Designer Ribbon Slides Round.

My second card was a little 3x3 cutie!  I love the little witch hat from this stamp set and I just can't get enough of this DSP pack!  More samples to come with it I'm sure!

Supplies: Cardstock: Basic Gray, Very Vanilla, DSP: Early Edition, Howlstooth & Scaringbone, Ink: Basic Black and Chocolate Chip (for distressing).

Hope you enjoy my cards.  If you have any questions, let me know!  And if you happen to play along with our challenge this week, link up in the comments so I can take a look!  Thanks for stopping by.

Paper Players #112

As I was looking through my Google Reader tonight, these colors just popped out at me and I had to get my in craft room and create!  I love it when that happens!

The challenge comes from the Paper Players blog and it was Colour Challenge #112.

So here is my card.  I wanted black, grey and white to be the bulk of my card with just a pop of Marina Mist in there.  So I used Whisper White cardstock as my base.  I then used 5 different Washi Tapes that were black, white and grey.  The woodgrain heart from the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set was stamped in Marina Mist on Whisper White cardstock and cut out.  I adhered that with dimensionals and then added a Jewel Rhinestone.

Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezey!  :)  (We love Pink-a-licious books around here!)

Hope you like it!

Technique Challenge #1

For my job of Inspiration Coordinator, week 2 of the month is a Technique Challenge.  This week we are trying out: Embossing on Designer Series Paper (DSP).

The first card started with a Crub Cake card base.  I then used a piece of Pool Party DSP and dry embossed it with the Chevron Embossing Folder.  The bow was made using some Pool Party Seam Binding Ribbon.

The scallop was made out of Early Espresso cardstock with the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch.  Then I layered a piece of Lucky Limeade DSP cut out using the 1-3/4" Circle Punch.  The butterfly was stamped with the Papillon Potpourri stamp set in Pool Party ink and then punch out using the Elegant Butterfly Punch.  The Jewel Rhinestones finish it off just perfectly!

My second card started with a Tangerine Tango card base.  I then heat embossed the leaves from the Wonderfall stamp set on a piece of DSP from the Howlstooth and Scaringbone pack.  I used white embossing powder.

I finished this card off with a little Crumb Cake cardstock layer, Linen Thread, a Basic Black Button, and a stamped Tangerine Tango leaf!

I hope you enjoy my cards this week!  If you want to join in this challenge with us and emboss on your DSP, put a link in my comments.  I would love to see what you are creating!

Stylin' Stampin' Blog Hop: September

It's time for another round of the Stylin' Stampin' Blog Hop!  This month we focused on Fall and Back-to-School.  Hopefully you are joining me from Darcy's blog!  Aren't her projects CUTE?!
Since we don't have any school age kiddos in our house, I went with the fall theme!
I love the new Wonderfall Stamp Set!  I used it on both of my projects today and even one earlier this week!  The base of this card is Pumpkin Pie.  I stamped the leaves with Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive ink.  I sponged Chocolate Chip ink around the edges of the Whisper White layer of cardstock.  Then I tied a little linen thread through a Crumb Cake button to finish it off!
My project this month is a scrapbook page.  I found this picture from 2010 of our little family when Brooke was only 20 months old (now she's 3.5 years old...whew).
I used Crumb Cake as my base.  The DSP is from the Howlstooth & Scaringbone pack that is in the Holiday Catalog.  Don't you just love that name??  I also used a little bit of the First Edition Specialty DSP.

I'm a little obessed with banners right now!  Don't these Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons add just the perfect touch...tied with a little linen thread!
I stamped these leaves in Basic Grey, Crumb Cake and Pumpkin Pie ink.
I hope you that you enjoy the rest of the hop!  Head on over to see Nancy's great creations!  I know you will love them!

Color Challenge #1

In the Stampin Up world, we have groups of demonstrators and I just happen to be in the Klompen Stampers group, lead for Jackie Bolhuis.  Jackie wanted to start a postion of Inspiration Coordinator to get her group inspired to stamp every single week and I was choosen to fill that position!  I'm so excited to bring you our first challenge...feel free to play along, even if you aren't in our group!

My first card uses NEW items from the Holiday Catalog!  The Chevron paper comes from the NEW Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP pack (and is actually Tangerine Tango...but it works).  The Early Espresso cardstock was dry embossed using the NEW Woodgrain Embossing Folder.  And the leaves come from the NEW stamp set, Wonderfall!
My second card is one of my absolute favorites!  I have been willing Stampin Up to make a hexagon punch for about a year now!  They don't have one.  So how did I make these cute hexagons??!!  I used My Digital Studio.  Stampin Up DOES have a digital hexagon punch that you can add to your collection for only $0.95!  Then I just filled the hexagons in with DSP and print them out on Whisper White cardstock and here you go!
The Button Buddies stamp set was just perfect for this color combination.  And the sentiment from the Friendly Phrases stamp set makes it so this card can be used for almost any occassion this fall!
Hope you enjoyed this Color Challenge.  If you play along, leave me a comment here so I can check out your fall creations!
