Practical Scrappers: September Card Sketch

It's time for another card sketch over at Practical Scrappers!

Here is the sketch that we were given to be inspired by this month...

And here is my card...

I basically took the idea of notebook paper and the school theme and then made it my own!

I created the file folder card using Stampin' Up!'s new envelope punch board!  If you would like to watch a tutorial, you can click here.  This video isn't done by me but she does a really good job explaining everything!

So create the spiral notebook paper look, I punched little holes along one side of the designer paper and then cut from the edge into each hole.  After cutting you will just bend, fold, and ruffle those edges so that it looks like this piece of paper was torn from a notebook!

This sentiment is stamped on the inside of my card!  I love this for a teacher!!

Well thanks for stopping by today!  Don't forget to visit the Practical Scrappers main blog today to see what the other Design Team Members came up with!

Stylin' Stampin' Blog Hop: Happy Anniversary

Thank you so much for joining us for the September Stylin’ Stampin’ Squad Blog Hop! This month we are focusing on the tools of the stampin’ trade. Specifically, each of our favorite stamping tools.

It’s amazing the kinds of tools that have been created to help us along in our paper-crafting addictions. This month’s blog hop will showcase many of the Stampin’ Up! tools that are now available to us in the 2013-2014 Stampin’ Up! Idea Book and Holiday Catalog and even a couple of products that are so new they aren’t in either catalog. We hope you enjoy seeing how we use the old and new tools and are inspired to come up with some great projects of your own.

You should have just left stop number 6 on the Stylin’ Stampin’ Squad blog hop – Pamela W. of Stinky Tofu. If so, you are in the right spot. If a link doesn’t work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below.

This kit is one of my favorites!  I love the little bicycle and the banner sentiment!  SO CUTE!

Here is the card that the sample tells you to make.  The kit came with the contents to make 4 of these cards...

And here is a card that I created on my own...

Using a card base of Crumb Cake and adding a little button in were the perfect finishing touches!
