Happy 4th of July!

The 4th of July is a big celebration for our family. We spend most of the day together just hanging out, having good conversations, and eating good food. So I normally have a lot of pictures of this event. I took over 100 images and narrowed it down to just 28 to edit.

One of my most favorite things to do when I have this many pictures I love for a certain layout is to print Walgreens photo collages and cut the smaller pictures apart. You can get as many pictures as you want (of course the more you put on there, the smaller the picture will be) printed on a 4x6 area for just 29 cents!

So having a lot of pictures for this layout, I thought that Sketchy Thursday's sketch this week was awesome and would totally work for me!

Here is my layout. I used Bo Bunny's 4th of July themed papers for my layout. I put Pacific Point and Real Red cardstock with them!

I just love this half circle detail that was in the sketch!

And here is where you can see my collage prints in action. I just had 3 pictures printed on one 4x6 area. And I left them connected together like a photo strip you would get from a photo booth!

Journaling Reads: "We spent the 4th of July at the Ryden's house. Family and friends were invited. We always have so much fun!"

Then of course I had more photos that wouldn't fit on this layout. So I created a 6x12 scrapbook page that I will put in an American Crafts page protector in the middle of this layout in my scrapbook.

Journaling Reads: "This was Brooke's first year to participate in breaking the pinata. She loved it and got some Smarties to munch on. Yum!"

And on this page I left enough room for some more journaling and this picture...

Walgreens can't seem to get it to print without a little blue spot on her cheek, which you can see is not on the original image! This one is just too cute not to include!

Well I hope you liked my layout! I can't wait to get back to my craft room tomorrow to create more!

My Mom

My Mom sometimes sends me card ideas that she creates. Here is her latest...

She used her Level 2 hostess stamp set (that she earned because she's part of my stamp club), Apple Blossoms. I love this set and I love this card! She said that she CASEd the card on page 102 of the new Idea Book & Catalog! SO CUTE! Don't you all think she should start her own blog??!!

Hi There!

I ran across this challenge today too and I had a few minutes after my daugther went to bed and before my husband got home from an improv show he was performing in...so I headed down to my craft room to create.

I'm really not neglecting my family by doing all of these challenges...promise! I did 4 loads of laundry today and the kitchen is clean, all the toys are picked up...I even worked out and taught some swimming lessons today too!

Anyway...this card sketch came from the Get Sketchy blog. Every week they have a sketch to complete...you all should play along too! Here is this week's sketch...

And here is my card...

All you Stampin Up fanatics...I used the new In Colors: Concord Crush, Pear Pizzazz, and Peach Parfait. I got the color combo directly from the NEW color coach. That thing is AWESOME!!

The Designer Series Paper that you see on this card is from the 6x6 paper pack that you can only receive as a hostess. You get 60 sheets of DSP (2 each of 6 double-sided designs in each of the 5 In Colors)! I love that pack of paper!

Snowball Fun??!!

When I ran across Sketchy Thursdays blog, I knew it was something that I wanted to participate in. Plus...I have a lot of pages to finish up for Brooke's 1st year album(s) that will only be one page...PERFECT!

Here is the sketch for this week...

And here is my page...
I used some old SU DSP along with the colors: Old Olive, Bashful Blue and the retired Really Rust and Close to Cocoa. Most of the buttons came from Stampin Up too!

Journaling Reads "It was snowing this morning at breakfast. So after we were done eating I reached outside and made a snowball for you to play with. You weren't so sure about it. 11 Months - 2/4/2010"

The faces that Brooke made while touching this snowball...priceless! I never want to forget them!!

Fantastic Day!

I recently found out that one of my blogging buddies is finally pregnant after trying for years. So I had to make her a card!

This card is also for a challenge at Stamp, Scrap & Doddle Saturdays. The challenge was not use image stamps. You could use sentiment stamps, die cuts or embellishments but nothing else. I just love how simple this card was to make and how cute it turned out. This card turned out nothing like the image I had in my head after finding it online...but that's the beauty of crafting!

I have another challenge post coming up today! And then I also have a few cards from friends and family to showcase. So come on back today!

PDCC41: Play Date Cafe Color Challenge

Play Date Cafe did an awesome color challenge this week. I just thought I would try it out. I used Stampin Up colors: Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler, and Whisper White.

This card is sized at 3 x 4.75 inches. It's a weird size but this was a scrap of cardstock that I thought would make the perfect card! And it's one that I will have to hand deliver!

This was really a simple card and I just love how it turned out!

CARDSTOCK: Stampin Up Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler, and Whisper White

STAMP SET: Tiny Tags - Stampin Up
INK: Stampin Up Cherry Cobbler
EMBELLISHMENTS: Ribbon - American Crafts, Random Flower, Random button, White thread.
