My First Publication

A while ago I found out that I would be featured in this magazine! It was my first round of actually submitting anything so I was VERY surprised that they wanted to feature my ornament!

This is the magazine that I was featured in.

On the Table of Contents, they featured my ornament! It's the one in the picture right next to where it says, "Hand Made Holidays." It's on page 81!!

And here is my page. It's right next to the project they featured on the cover! Isn't that COOL?!!

And here it is a little bigger so you can read it! I was so excited when I found the magazine! I told the cashier and she was excited for me too! Ha ha! Hope you all enjoy!!

I {Heart} Melon Mambo!

When Stampin Up announced the In Colors for this year, I just knew that I would love Melon Mambo (bottom left color in the picture above). I mean, look at my daugther's room...

Melon Mambo and Chocolate Chip...all the way!

Here is a card that I got to make with the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set. Don't you just love the Melon Mambo?! We also used the Perfect Details Texturz Plate from the Idea Book & Catalog (p. 195, #115962, $3.95). It added great texture to the Melon Mambo part of the card!
The little saying, "Life happens. Love helps." Comes from the new stamp set, Vintage Vogue found on page 26 of the Ocassions Mini. I will be featuring that set in a few days so stay tuned!!

I {Heart} Hearts

Here's another card with NEW stuff from the mini catalog!! We got to use the Sending Love Specialty DSP on this card too! I just love that paper! You can see it in this post.

The stamp set used for this card is the NEW Clear Mount I {Heart} Hearts (#117010 for Wood Mount $26.95, #118571 for Clear Mount $18.95). I think my favorite heart in this set is the woodgrain heart. I just {heart} it! And it's kinda manly. I will show you something I have made with it in the next few days! And it was for my husband! Ooooo...

We also got to use a little of the Big Shot for this card. I don't have one yet...but hanging out with these girls is making me want one really bad. They use it ALOT! We used the new Textured Impressions Folder: Perfect Polka Dots (#117335 $7.95). It's the perfect size to texturize a card front.

We also used the new Pinking Hearts Border Punch (#117649 $15.95) on the edge of the Real Red cardstock. The hearts that it punches are SO tiny! I hear that some people save them to make shaker cards! WOW...that's dedication!

The I {Heart} Hearts stamp set coordinates with all of the existing Heart Punches! To punch out the Friend heart stamp that we first embossed in white, we used the Full Heart punch (#113693 $15.95). You can also use the Heart to Heart punch (#113694 $15.95) and the new Small Heart punch (#117193 $5.95) that is pictured above.

The Small Heart punch features our new punch design! The best thing about this new design is the latch that will hold the punch closed so that you can stack them flat! AWESOME!

I will be back with more new items tomorrow!

2010 Goals

As a Stampin Up Demonstrator I receive a montly magazine, Stampin Success. It's full of great card and scrapbook page ideas that I normally use for workshops and classes.

But this month there was a great idea that I am using personally! The Scrapbook List! Doesn't that just sound interesting?

The idea is to scrapbook a list of things that you would like to accomplish in the year of 2010! I am all about making lists and I love to set goals for myself...and let's face it, a year is a long enough time that I might just get 10 things done!

So in the magazine they created a title page with a list of all of their goals for the year. This is an 8.5x8.5" page. We have a great chipboard album that fits this size perfectly!!

Then, as they completed their goals throughout the year, they created a page about it! I love this so much!!!

So I pretty much copied their page exactly!

See! And here are my goals for the year:
1. Lose 20 pounds.
2. Finish taxes before the end of February.
3. Complete Perry's scrapbook.
4. Read 12 books.
5. Make a fondue dinner.
6. Organize crawl space.
7. Clock 300 miles of cardio at the gym.
8. Complete all extra cards (from classes and such that I have lying around).
9. Go on 1 date per month with my husband.
10. Write a will.
So I think these are all pretty attainable. I tried to think of things that I could take pictures of and that would have an ending point. What do you think? Do you have 10 things you want to do this year??

Beautiful Wings

I was so glad that we got to make this project! It's just so cute!

Here is what the card looks like all folded up.

Then you pull off the belly band and get to see this!! So cute, right? Of course the Kraft paper makes it awesome from the get-go, but the other thing I love about this is the Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die (#118138 $11.95).

Here is a little more information about the die:
*This chemically etched die cuts and embosses at the same time.
*Designed to cut through one sheet of cardstock or paper at a time.
*Use with Sizzix Big Shot machine, standard cutting mats, and multipurpose platform.
*Die size is 2 1/4" x 2 1/2" (So these butterflies are really tiny...but that's what makes them so cute!)

The happy Birthday image comes from the Well Scripted stamp set (#117072 for Wood Mount $19.95, #118601 for Clear Mount $14.95).

December Daily - Completed Album!

So here you will find the remainder of my December Daily Album. It was fun to do. I'm not sure that I will do it every year but it was really good to get in on the process in 2009! And Sam even said that it was cool today!

The 24th was spent with the Rydens! Didn't so much more than add pictures and journaling to the page!

The pictures from the 25th were from our Christmas morning at home and at the Teasley's Christmas event. I had to add in a divided picture page because there were a lot of images that I liked!

I filled the back of the divided picture page with pictures from the 26th. I had to make the page on the right. I originally thought that I would only go until the 25th but we ended up having Christmas with my family on the 26th so I just decided to finish out the weekend. I got to use the embellishments that Sam put in my stocking. Don't you like them!

And for the last page, Brooke with all of her Christmas gifts, I just matted the picture and then added some Thicker numbers.

It's complete! YEAH!

Love Bandit

Look at this cute box and cards that we made using the Love Bandit Stamp Set (#117086 for Wood Mount $17.95, #118577 for Clear Mount $13.95). Cute right??!! I just love the Melon Mambo and Basic Black combo! Don't you?

Here are all the images in the Love Bandit stamp set! I want to get my hands on that little owl! More coming tomorrow!

Clear Blocks

I want to introduce you to Stampin Up's Clear Blocks! They are SO pretty! During our pre-order period, I thought I didn't need any of the blocks. I had a few from craft stores that I thought would be good enough. Why purchase more, right?! Well on Saturday I got to use some of our blocks and I fell in LOVE with them and had to order them all! I placed my order yesterday so I also got a free Sale-A-Bration item for ordering them! WOO HOO!

These blocks are made from high-quality, sturdy acrylic. Each block is etched with a letter for easy identification and all four sides of the 3/4" thick block are grooved, making it easier to grip as you stamp. I think the groove is the best feature! So nice!

Here are the blocks you can purchase:
A - #118487 (1-3/16" x 1-1/4") $3.95
B - #117147 (1-5/8" x 1-15/16") $5.95
C - #118486 (2" x 2-1/4") $6.95
D - #118485 (2-7/8" x 2-11/16") $8.50
E - #118484 (3-7/16" x 4-7/16") $11.95
F - #118483 (4-7/8" x 6") $16.95
G - #118489 (3/4" x 2-1/2") $4.50
H - #118490 (1-5/8" x 4-7/16") $8.50
I - #118488 (2-1/4" x 5-7/8") $11.95

Or you can save 10% and get all 9 blocks:
Block Bundle - #118491 (Blocks A-I) $69.95

Don't miss out on these great blocks! Order today!!

Fox & Friends

Here is another card that I got to make at the shoebox swap I attended last Saturday. Isn't it cute?

The creator used a ton of new stuff on this card! My favorite new thing she used was the Fox & Friends stamp set (#117020 for Wood Mount $18.95 and #118565 for Clear Mount $14.95)

I opted for the Clear Mount version of this set! I wanted to try them out! "Can't knock em til you try em." Right?! Above you will see a picture of what they look like when they come to you. They are in a DVD size case. WOW...what a space saver!

The creator of this card also used the Well Scripted stamp set (#117072 for Wood Mount $19.95 and #118601 for Clear Mount $14.95). The sayings include: Love You much (as seen on the card), Congratulations, wonderful Mother, dear Father, happy Easter, and happy Birthday.

Also used on this card was the Sending Love Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) (#117153 $11.95). Each sheet shines with glittery designs on one side! You will receive 12 sheets; 2 each of 6 double-sided designs. Colors include: Real Red, Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, and Very Vanilla. I just ordered this and can't wait to get my hands on it!

Don't you just LOVE all of the new goodies??!!
